Ziggurat Ride Raises More Than £260,000 for Action Medical Research
More than 70 riders from across the construction and built environment sectors have raised over £260,000 for children’s charity Action Medical Research through the tenth edition of the Ziggurat bicycle ride.
Over four days, riders travelled 340 miles from Bilbao to Madrid, taking on 5,700 metres of climbing through the hills and valleys of Spain’s Basque region and Castile and León. The challenge brought people from across the industry together to raise funds for vital research.
The Brett Group was one of the main sponsors of the anniversary event, alongside Day Group and Maylim, which took place from 23 to 27 September 2026 and included a number of customers.

Over 70 riders from the construction and built environment sector took part in what is the tenth edition of the charity bike ride.
For some riders, the cause has a personal significance. Experiences within their own families of premature birth and childhood illness have brought home the importance of medical advances and the research Action Medical Research helps to fund. Those connections added to the shared motivation to raise money for babies and children facing serious health conditions.

Bill Brett, Chairman of the Brett Group, said:
“Brett is so pleased to support Ziggurat and Action Medical Research again this year. Raising more than £260,000 is a remarkable achievement and reflects the dedication of everyone who took part and succeeded on this very challenging ride. Most importantly, the money raised will help support vital medical research for sick and disabled children.”

Sarah Stevenson, Head of Corporate Partnerships, Action Medical Research, says:
"We are so grateful to all our riders for their support – it was a challenging ride but incredibly rewarding. Ziggurat sets the bar for what a networking ride should be, combining spectacular routes with the chance to meet people in the same industry who share the same purpose: to raise vital funds to help sick babies and children."
