Brett Continues Its Long-Standing Support for Whitstable Harbour Day

Whitstable Harbour was once again bustling with visitors as the annual Brett-sponsored Whitstable Harbour Day returned for another sunny weekend to celebrate the town's maritime heritage. Throughout the weekend, thousands of local people and families enjoyed fresh seafood, live music, bustling quayside activities, and opportunities to engage with local businesses.

The Brett Group’s connection with Whitstable stretches back more than 100 years, with the business having operated alongside the harbour since 1920 - a long-standing relationship that continues today.

The event provides an opportunity for the local community to celebrate the town’s history and the harbour’s place in the local community. Across the quayside, visitors were able to enjoy boatbuilding demonstrations, talks, children’s craft workshops, boat races and a variety of other maritime-themed activities.

At this year’s show, Brett continued its sponsorship of the Heritage Boat Centre, supporting volunteers working to restore the historic Whitstable oyster vessel The Gamecock.

Before and during the weekend, people from across Brett Aggregates worked together with the Whitstable Harbour Show organisers to support the preparations and welcoming visitors as everything came together.

Sheona Drew, Customer Service Manager at Brett Aggregates, ran the Brett stand alongside Brett Aggregates’ drivers Martan Grady and Dave Mann, as well as Sarah Grady. Phil Coupland, Managing Director at Brett Aggregates, also attended with his family and welcomed visitors at the entrance.

The trucks attracted plenty of attention, with Martan and Dave showing visitors around, while the artefacts on display sparked interest and conversation. Brett-branded lanyards, mints, mugs and sunglasses were given as mementos, and the team enjoyed chatting with local people as they stopped by the stand.

With Harbour Day already confirmed for next year, the Brett Group will be continuing its support for this celebration of Whitstable’s maritime heritage.
